1. Know your diet
To start with a healthy diet, you need to understand what a healthy diet can do for you. A healthy diet should help improve your cholesterol levels and blood pressure while also controlling your body weight and sugar levels. A health diet includes a lots of vegetables and fruits, whole grain foods (like grain bread), protein foods (like fish, nuts and eggs) , and limits highly processed foods.
Eating vegetables introduces your body to vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and fibre, and can also help you keep a healthy weight. Eating whole grain foods can provide the body with fibre, protein and vitamin B which can keep you healthy. Protein foods are also good for you as they help build and maintain your skin, muscles and bones.
To keep a healthy diet, it is important reduce on the amount of processed food intake. Highly processed foods often have very important nutrients (like minerals and vitamins) eliminated and substituted with salt and sugar. Eating highly processed foods is linked with a number of health problems such as obesity, high blood pressure, depression and even cancer.

It is normal for engineers to have busy schedules and to move from place to place. With this in mind, it becomes difficult for one to find a healthy meal at all times during work. This is where planning becomes important. By planning ones diet through preparation of a good diet schedule, one can ensure that they can meet their healthy diet needs. With diet planned incorporated in your work schedule, it is possible to prepare and pack healthy meals in advance in case of work trips.
3. Don’t forget about the water
Drinking is enough important because it will prevent a reduction in cognitive abilities and morale that may arise from dehydration. It is also important to avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine which can dehydrate the body. If you are going for a trip or site inspection, don’t forget to pack some bottles of water as this will ensure that you drink enough water while on site. It is important to avoid sugary drinks as well because they can lead to an unconscious calorie gain, and hence an unhealthy weight gain.
4. Be mindful of what you eat

A high salt diet ups your chances for high blood pressure and likelihood for heart disease and stroke. For an adult, it is good to maintain your salt intake at no more than 6 grams day. Don’t forget to maintain the three meals of the day as they will help to you stay healthy. Some people skip out on breakfast with hopes of weight loss, but breakfast is another important meal of the day that one should not miss. A good meal to have for breakfast is eggs as they provide good content of protein ,and which can improve your health.
